As power levels and transmission loads continue to rise, the factory cast-steel C-Hub Collar Drive becomes one of the critical weak points in the ZF 8HP45, 8HP50, and 8HP51 platform. While adequate for OEM power levels, cast components are inherently limited by material porosity, inconsistent grain structure, and reduced fatigue strength. Under increased line pressure, upgraded clutch packs, aggressive calibrations, and repeated hard launches, these limitations can lead to spline wear, cog tooth deformation, or catastrophic hub failure.
